LASER Applications

The term L.A.S.E.R comes from the English acronym laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) which in Greek is attributed as a forced radiation emission.

Dental LASER is a powerful beam with a specific wavelength that affects the dental tissues. LASER technology first came to prominence in 1960 by Theodore Maiman. It took about 30 years until the approval of the release of the first LASER, of the type Nd:YAG, at 1989, from Mayers and Mayers. Nowadays there exist LASER for both hard and soft tissues. In our dental clinic, as warm supporters of innovative technology, we have been using LASER since 2008. It is the most up-to-date and friendly and is applicable to many dental treatments such as:

  • Correction of gummy smile (aesthetic gum correction)
  • Gingivitis treatment
  • Treatment of periodontitis
  • Frenectomy
  • Revelation of impacted and semi-impacted wisdow tooth
  • Crown lengthening
  • Teeth whitening
  • Aphthae treatment
